It is raining in the forest and Ethelbert asks Dilip to take him somewhere hot and dry. They travel to Africa where they meet a family of hippopotami who are waiting for the rain to make their water fresh again.

Ethelbert thinks his home is too small. They travel to a beautiful beach where they meet a crab who has outgrown her shell. Ethelbert helps her find a new shell and how lucky he is to have much space Ethelbert wishes he had wings like a bird.

Ethelbert decides to stop grooming himself in an attempt to be a wild animal. Dilip doesn't recognise him for a moment. They travel through the magic waterfall to the African jungle where a friendly gorilla teaches Ethelbert the importance of keeping himself clean.
