3. Pilot

Freebie and The Bean are two cops who couldn't catch a cold, let alone a crook. Starring Tom Mason as Freebie and Hector Elizondo as the Bean. Flip dialogue and fast action sequences are the trademark, and in the pilot episode, Freebie and the Bean take to the streets of San Francisco, dead set on finding a live witness for a Grand Jury. Freebie and the Bean work against a deadline, in more ways than one, when the D.A.'s star witness turns up dead, and they quickly have to thread the underworld to find another witness to testify against notorious loan shark Willie Scudder.

4. Flying Aces

Freebie has to fly a plane while on the trail of cocaine smugglers. Unfortunately, he only learnt how to take off — not land!

5. Highway Robbery

Aired: 1/10/1981

When a friend of Freebie and the Bean is framed on a charge of hijacking trucks, they are determined to prove his innocence even if it means taking to the road themselves. Freebie and the Bean make an unlikely team of teamsters when they go undercover as truck drivers to get the lowdown on a gang of hitchhikers.

6. Tee-Off for Two

Aired: 1/17/1981

Freebie and the Bean go undercover as a couple of country club members and almost cash in on their chips, for good, when they infiltrate a crooked poker racket run by loan sharks at the posh Meadow Oaks Club. Freebie and the Bean take up golf in their pursuit of the leader of a gambling ring who cheats and then blackmails his victims.

7. Lover, Come Back

Aired: 1/24/1981

The duo search for the star witness in a murder case against a big-time gangster.During his search for a witness, Sgt. Dan Delgado encounters Rita Valdez, an old flame. As they reminisce, he is taken aback when she reveals that he is the father of her 11-year-old son.

8. A Pair of Pirates

Freebie and The Bean are pursuing a millionaire shipping owner who deliberately sinks his own freighter after removing its valuable cargo, all in an attempt to claim the insurance money.

9. Follow the Leader

Freebie's favourite uncle foils our two heroes' search for the loot from a million-dollar robbery, and it begins to look like Uncle Frank may be wanting the haul for himself.
