The prosecution demands the death penalty for Pablo. Cándido and Cristina, his parents, hire Clay Monroe, a lawyer who is sure that without Pablo's DNA traces or fingerprints at the crime scene, the jury will find him innocent.

After an injury, Pablo returns to Miami, where he meets Tanya, a young woman with whom he begins a relationship. Unfortunately, he also reconnects with old friends related to the world of gangs.

Sentenced to death, the years go by and Pablo experiences the daily life of death row; a new lawyer appears on the scene: Benjamin Waxman. Convinced of Pablo's innocence, Waxman prepares the appeal to get him out of jail.

Although it implies delaying the appeal and being at least two more years locked in the corridor, Pablo decides to continue with the new line of investigation. Waxman requests DNA evidence to prove Willian Ortiz is one of the killers.
